NotRenewing.com is a marketplace where domain owners list names they have decided not to renew, and buyers purchase them at a flat price. These terms are the agreement between you and NotRenewing. By creating an account, listing a domain, or buying one, you accept them.
NotRenewing is operated from 801 W Algonquin Road #7244, Algonquin, IL 60102, United States. Questions go to support@notrenewing.com.
1. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and for keeping access to your email secure, because email controls account recovery.
- One person or business per account. Creating additional accounts to evade a suspension, a fee, or a listing limit is a breach of these terms.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, or that is subject to unpaid seller fees.
2. What NotRenewing is, and is not
We operate the marketplace, take the buyer's payment, and pay the seller. We are not the owner of the domains listed here and we are not a party to the underlying sale. The seller is. We do not act as an escrow agent, a registrar, or a broker, and we give no legal, tax, or investment advice.
We do not guarantee that any listed domain will sell. Most do not. We also do not guarantee any particular level of traffic, placement, or visibility for a listing, and placement decisions, including scoring and ordering, are ours to make.
3. Listing a domain
Your promises as a seller
By listing a domain you confirm that:
- You own it or are authorised by the owner to sell it.
- It is currently registered, and you can transfer it to a buyer.
- Selling it does not infringe anyone's trademark or other rights, and the name is not one you have been asked to stop using.
- The information you provide about it, including expiration date and registrar, is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Listing limits and plans
Free accounts may hold up to 25 active listings. Paid plans raise that limit and add slots for recently registered domains:

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current period. If your plan lapses or you downgrade, listings above the new limit may be deactivated. Sellers on older six-month plans keep those terms until they change plan.
Listing quality and rejection
Listing is free, and we may reject or remove a listing we judge to have no reasonable resale value, in order to keep the marketplace useful for buyers. If we do, you are emailed the reason, the listing moves to a rejected state, and it stays visible to you in your dashboard. If you disagree with our assessment, reply to that email and we will look again. Quality decisions are ours alone.
We also remove listings for domains that turn out not to be registered, and listings that we believe infringe a trademark.
4. Buying a domain
- Every domain on NotRenewing is $99. There are no auctions, reserves, or offers.
- Payment is taken at checkout by Stripe or PayPal. Your purchase is a contract with the seller for that specific domain.
- Once payment clears, the seller has 72 hours to initiate the transfer to you.
- You then have 7 days to confirm you have received the domain, or to tell us that you have not.
- Domains are sold as they are. We do not verify traffic, backlinks, search rankings, prior use, or reputation, and you are responsible for your own checks before buying.
- Some registrars impose a lock that prevents transfer for up to 60 days after registration or a previous transfer. Where that applies, delivery can take longer than 72 hours, and we will tell you.
Refunds
If the seller misses the 72 hour deadline and there is no sign of a transfer at the registrar, we refund you automatically and in full. If the transfer fails or the domain turns out not to be deliverable, tell us within the 7 day confirmation window and we will refund you. Because a domain transfer cannot be reversed, we do not offer refunds for change of mind once a domain has been delivered.
5. Seller obligations, fees, and strikes
When your domain sells, you must initiate the transfer within 72 hours. If you cannot deliver a domain, tell us as soon as you know, because self-reporting is treated far more leniently than going quiet.

Fees you owe are deducted from your next payout. A suspension for unpaid fees is curable: it lifts once the balance clears. Hiding your listings does not clear a fee.
Repeatedly listing domains you cannot deliver, listing domains you do not control, or transferring a sold domain to anyone other than the buyer are all grounds for permanent closure of your account.
6. Payouts
- The buyer pays $99. We deduct our platform fee and the payment processing cost, and the remainder is yours. The exact split for each sale is shown in your dashboard before and after payout.
- A payout is released no earlier than 4 days after the buyer's payment, and never before that payment has cleared to us. This window exists so chargebacks and disputes surface before money leaves.
- We pay out by Stripe, PayPal, or bank transfer through Wise, depending on what you set up. Available methods vary by country.
- The minimum withdrawal is $10. You may also let earnings accumulate as a balance and withdraw later.
- You are responsible for giving us accurate payout details. Money sent to details you supplied incorrectly may not be recoverable.
- You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn here.
- If a sale is later refunded or charged back, the corresponding payout is reversed, and if it has already been paid, the amount is recovered from your future payouts.
7. Paid promotion
Sellers may pay to increase a listing's visibility, currently $9.99 to feature a listing for 7 days and $10 to boost one. These fees buy placement, not a sale, and are non-refundable once the promotion has run. Promoted listings are identified as such.
8. Affiliate programme
If you join our affiliate programme, you earn a commission on qualifying sales referred through your link. Commissions on a sale that is later refunded are reversed. Payment processing costs on an affiliate payout are deducted from that payout. We may withhold commissions we believe were generated through spam, misrepresentation, self-referral, or bidding on our brand name.
9. Email you receive from us
While you hold an account we send transactional email you cannot opt out of, such as sale notifications, transfer instructions, payout confirmations, and security notices. Our newsletter, keyword alerts, and product updates are optional and every one of them carries an unsubscribe link.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- List domains you do not own or control, or that infringe someone else's rights.
- Use the marketplace to launder money, or to sell domains connected to fraud, malware, or phishing.
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk download the site beyond what a normal browser does, or attempt to circumvent rate limits.
- Interfere with the site's operation, probe its security, or access data that is not yours.
- Contact buyers or sellers you meet here to complete a sale off-platform in order to avoid our fees.
- Misrepresent a domain's history, traffic, or standing.
11. Content you provide
You keep ownership of the descriptions, logos, and images you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the marketplace, including in our newsletter and in advertising. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence. This licence ends when you remove the content, except for copies already distributed in an email that has been sent.
Everything else on the site, including its design, text, and software, belongs to us.
12. Domain data and accuracy
We show expiration and drop dates gathered from registry sources. For some extensions no reliable public source exists, and in those cases the date shown is an estimate and is labelled as one. Estimated dates can be wrong. Do not rely on them as the sole basis for a purchase.
13. Disclaimers
The service is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure, or that any listing is accurate.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, NotRenewing is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or the lost value of a domain, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $99.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as that jurisdiction permits.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify NotRenewing against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, from a domain you listed, or from your infringement of someone else's rights.
16. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account for breach of these terms, for unpaid fees, or where we reasonably suspect fraud. Closing an account does not cancel obligations already incurred, including fees owed, transfers due on domains already sold, and refunds due to buyers.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the bottom of this page always reflects the current version. For material changes we will email account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use NotRenewing after that point means you accept the new terms.
18. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and both you and we consent to that jurisdiction.
19. General
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us.
